This is for the fitting of an 15" pre-assembled recone kit, supplied by us from our stock. The price covers the labour cost of stripping out and cleaning your old driver and fitting the recone kit, plus any consumables needed during the process.
An assembled recone kit is where the voice coil, spider, and cone are supplied part pre-assembled as a complete unit, the only loose parts are the dust dome and the gasket which are fitted separately. All Fane, Precision Devices and JAM recone kits come part pre-assembled.
This service is cheaper than unassembled recone kits, such as ElectroVoice and Eminence recone kits. If you have an unassmebled recone kit, it may not be used in conjunction with this service.
This service is not inclusive of shipment of your driver to us, or shipment of the reconed driver back to your delivery address. This must be arranged separately.
Note that not all dead loudspeakers can be repaired by reconing. Upon receipt of your driver, the first stage prior to any reconing is a full strip down and cleaning of your driver to ensure that the recone is possible for your speaker. Should the speaker prove to be beyond repair, we will let you know immediately. An inspection charge will still be payable for drivers that are unsuitable to be reconed.
